Overview

Lundahl & Seitl, a cross-genre unit based in Sweden and the UK that combines dance and visual art, visits Japan for the first time. During their one-month artist-in-residency in Kochi, they will collect anecdotes about the museum's 25-year history and the museum's collection, and weave them into a single story as a new museum tour 'Symphony', in which the guide and audience travel through the museum on a one-to-one basis.

The audience will re-visit a museum where they have never seen before while wearing white goggles to block their view, and being guided by the voice from their wireless headphones and the guide's hands. This small showing will take place at this coming opening day event that commemorates the 25th anniversary of our museum.

Profile

Lundahl & Seitl
Cross-disciplinary unit founded in 2003 by visual artist Christer Lundahl and choreographer Martina Seitl. They are based in both Sweden and the UK. Their creative method is characterised by research focusing on history, time, place, perception and awareness, and by removing the boundaries between movement and vision. The aim is to create an immersive experience that deprives and stimulates certain senses through the use of complex compositions or choreographies of movement, tactile sensations, sound and instructions, and 3D sound technology. They have often collaborated with multidisciplinary artists, architects, dancers, choreographers, actors, musicians and scientists, curating artworks, large-scale installations, workshops and seminars. http://www.lundahl-seitl.com/
