Description
Unrivaled, shocking world view and amazing dance performance
The Belgian dance company "Peeping Tom" has demonstrated its originality with incredible movements that seem to defy the human body's range of motion, and has garnered enthusiastic support as a stage for a new genre that can no longer be described as dance, theater or opera. For the first time ever, a group of unique performers who have been long awaited by theatres around the world as "the company you want to see the most" will come to Japan to perform "Mother (Moeder)", the second work in the latest "Family Trilogy", for one night only in Kochi, Japan.
Synopsis
An old building on the outskirts of town where the funeral of my mother, who passed away with great sadness, is held. An old-fashioned painting hangs in the white, inorganic space. It's very similar to somewhere that looks like ever visited before. It could be a museum or the house of someone you know. No, it could have been a hospital waiting room......... It triggers a memory of a place you might have visited at any time. Brilliant memories, unforgettable memories, reality and fantasy overlap, and the reminiscences of strangers are replaced by their own stories. In this space where the past and the future, life and death, come and go at the same time, a mother full of tenderness, cruelty, desire, suffering and anger quietly emerges.

Artist Profile
Formed in 2000 by Gabriela Carrizo and Franck Chartier, who have been a central member of Belgium's leading dance company Les Ballets C de la B. The name of the company was changed to "Peeping Tom = Voyeur" with the aim of creating an unknown dance. The astonishing performances by dancers, actors and opera singers of various genres, nationalities and ages, with their striking personalities, have become so popular that they have been called the next Pina Bausch. They have made her mark on the history of dance with one innovative work after another, daring to cut into the darkness of modern society and elevating even the most extreme scenes into an emotional stage full of beauty, sadness, love and humor. http://www.peepingtom.be/en
