tupera tupera is an artist duo consisting of Kameyama Tatsuya and Nakagawa Atsuko. They are active in a wide range of artistic endeavors including picture books, illustrations, animation, workshops, stage designs, accessories, and spatial designs.

tupera tupera started in 2002 with the production of fabric accessories. They expanded their activities into the field of picture books in 2004, with their first being “Kigazurari”, a decorative accordion picture book. They have produced many unique and much-discussed books, such as “Polar Bear’s Underwear,” in 2012 and “Panda Sento,” in 2013, well known for their new ideas and humor. In addition, in 2019, they received the grand prize in the 1st Yanase Takashi Cultural Award; an award recognizing the creation of exceptional picture books and songwriting for children, based on Takashi Yanase’s will.

This is the first large-scale exhibition that traces tupera tupera's craftsmanship, rooted in creating picture books, and characterized by the phrase "Hito to tsunagaru koto de atarashii mono ga umareru” (Connecting with people gives birth to new things). Approximately 300 works will be exhibited, with the highlight of the exhibit being the originals of picture booksmade from cut paper pasted on a baserepresentative of tupera tupera. Other exhibited works include three-dimensional works, illustrations, and video productions. Enjoy the unique and diverse world of tupera tupera through the exhibit “You, Me & Everyone”.
